Cache outage

A cache outage removes the hit-rate shield in front of the source database, so unrestricted fallback can turn one dependency failure into a cascading outage.

🍪 The fast copy can be wrong

Ava and Ben are workers using the computer to manage catalog. If the fast computer stops, sending every request to the slow computer can make that one stop too.
