Lesson 07.4
Holds, expiry & booking flow
A hold reserves rooms on every night of a stay while the guest pays; it expires so abandoned checkouts give rooms back, and confirmation rechecks it so an expired hold never becomes a double booking.
Paying takes time, and someone else is faster
Ava and Ben work at a small inn with one room left on Saturday. Ava takes a phone booking for Friday and Saturday. While the guest reads out their card, Ben sells Saturday to someone at the front desk.
In this lesson you'll
- 1Follow one run and learn how to read the picture
- 2Predict what changes before revealing the result
- 3Let the guest pay after the saved room runs out, without anyone getting a double booking
